Virtual Interfaces enable the assignment of multiple IP addresses per NIC, Bonding, and VLAN interface configured in the system. Learn how to configure and manage them below.

The table below displays all the Virtual Interfaces configured in the system.

Here’s a brief description of the fields in the table:

Name. Name of the virtual interface.
Alias. Identifies the interface with an alias for easy access when configuring a farm or other services.
IP. Network-layer IP address assigned to the virtual interface. Supports both IPv4 and IPv6.
MAC. Link-layer MAC address inherited from the parent NIC interface.
Netmask. Subnet mask of the parent NIC. Configurable only if the IP address is configured.
Gateway. Default gateway used by the virtual interface, inherited from the parent interface.
Status. Current status of the virtual interface:

  • Green. Interface is UP.
  • Red. Interface is DOWN.

Actions. Actions available for managing Virtual Interfaces:

  • Create a Virtual Interface. Redirects to the Virtual Interface creation form.
  • Bring up. Starts the interface.
  • Bring down. Shuts down the interface, stopping it from accepting traffic.
  • Edit. Modifies the virtual interface configuration, including IP address and alias.
  • Delete. Clears the configuration and removes the virtual interface.
