Bonding interfaces (also known as link bundling, port trunking, channel bonding, link aggregation, NIC teaming, etc.) combine multiple physical network interfaces into a single logical network interface. This setup enhances load balancing and provides redundancy among the bonded NICs.

Bonding Interfaces List #

This table displays all the bonding network interfaces configured in the system.

relianoid load balancer bonding methods

Actions available for selected interfaces:
Create bonding. Redirects to the bonding interface creation form.
Bring up. Starts selected interfaces and configures them to accept traffic.
Bring down. Shuts down selected interfaces, stopping traffic acceptance.
Destroy. Removes the bonding interface if the configuration is empty, making slave interfaces available again.
Unset. Removes selected interface configurations.

Bonding Interface List Fields #

Name. Configured name of the bonding interface.
Alias. Identifies the interface with an alias for easier access during configuration.
IP. Network-layer IP address of the bonding interface if configured. Supports IPv4 and IPv6.
MAC. Link-layer address of the bonding interface. Inherits from one of the slaves if not configured.
Netmask. Subnet mask of the bonding interface if configured. Must be set simultaneously with the IP Address.
Gateway. Default gateway used by the bonding interface if configured.
Status. Indicates the status of the bonding interface:

  • Green. Indicates the bonding is UP.
  • Red. Indicates the bonding is DOWN.

Actions. Available actions for each bonding interface in the table:

  • Edit. Modifies interface configurations like IP address, netmask, and gateway.
  • Bring down. Stops the interface from accepting traffic.
  • Destroy. Removes the bonding interface (if empty), making slave interfaces available again.
  • Unset. Removes interface configurations.

These options allow direct management of each selected bonding interface via the Actions menu.
