This section details how to install or schedule updates for the IPDS package, which stands for Intrusion Prevention and Detection Service.

IPDS Package Updates #

The IPDS package comprises a set of security instructions available to the user. Here, you can manage updates for the IPDS package, including scheduling automatic updates.

Status. Indicates the current status of the IPDS package with a colored indicator:

  • Green Tick. The IPDS package is installed and up-to-date.
  • Red ‘i’. The IPDS package is not installed.

Rules Date. Shows the date when the currently installed IPDS rules were created.
Scheduled. Describes any scheduled IPDS package updates, if applicable.

This section explains the IPDS package scheduler and its configuration options.

Mode. Specifies how often the update will occur or allows disabling the schedule. Available values include:

  • Disabled. Disables any scheduled updates.
  • Daily. Sets the update to occur daily. This enables the Frequency field to determine how many hours between each update.

  • Weekly. Schedules the update weekly. This enables the Day of the week field to specify which day of the week the update will occur (Monday to Sunday).

  • Monthly. Schedules the update monthly. This enables the Day of the month field to specify the day of the month for the update (1 to 31).

Time. Specifies the time of day when the update will occur. This setting is applicable when the mode is set to Daily and the Frequency is greater than 0.
Frequency. When in Daily mode, this indicates the number of hours between updates. For Weekly mode, it specifies the day of the week (1 for Monday, 7 for Sunday), and for Monthly mode, it specifies the day of the month (1 to 31).

Once the scheduler is configured as desired, click the Apply button to save the configuration.
