How can we install the community edition on openstack? I found some documentation for openstack, but this is for an other product, I tried it, but the installation still fails.

Are you using the latest ISO from Community Edition?
Can you provide the error message and the stage where the system get stuck?

The ISO installation doesn’t require to have Internet connection, so it doesn’t require a system update.

I have started a new install and see an error right after the start of the installation process

error:
mount: mounting /dev/vda on /media failed: Invalid argument
umount: can’t unmount /media: Invalid argument
mount: mounting /dev/vda on /media failed: Invalid argument

after this error the Install wizard does start up..
running without errors until:
we get in to “configuring apt”

the error is:
apt configuration problem
An attempt to configure apt to install additional packages from the media failed.

Hi Willem,

Can you go to the third console to see the log error? You can switch the console 3 times with the key combination Alt+Right Arrow.

Also, are you installing with Internet connectivity?

It seems that the CDROM was unmounted (probably from the hypervisor?) and then the packages have not been reachable anymore. The log says:

[…]
Source list entries for this are:
cd cdrom:….
Unmounting CD-ROM….
[…]

Are you using the latest CE ISO 7.4?
Can you try the installation without Internet connection?

What the logs says about the CD-ROM with the command:
grep -i “CD-ROM” /var/log/syslog

I have tried the install without internet connection, still the CD-ROM gets unmounted

It seems that the CDROM gets unmounted when the system wants to install additional software?

Hi Willem, the ISO installer doesn’t require additional software to be installed.

Can you share the steps you take to reproduce the issue?
Are you using the latest CE ISO 7.4?

Hi Willem, we just released a new ISO. Could you try the installation in OpenStack with this new ISO?
