Release Notes
One of the standout features of RELIANOID 8.3.0 is the expanded eproxy capabilities, introducing TCP listener support, TCP SSL Offload, and SNI support, enabling more flexible and powerful load balancing configurations. Additionally, HTTP/S and HTTP/2 multi-service support further enhances the ability to manage diverse workloads efficiently.
Security is a major focus in this release, with SYN flood mitigation enabled by default, protecting against common DDoS attacks without additional configuration. The platform also sees a 6x improvement in new connection performance, ensuring faster response times and better resource utilization.
This release includes substantial backend optimizations, such as improvements in API logic, system configuration migration, and network bonding handling. The switch to noid-updater simplifies system updates while maintaining reliability. For user experience, the Web GUI and CLI enhancements provide a more intuitive and organized interface, including better sorting of interfaces and graphs.
In RELIANOID 8.3.0, we have disabled disk storage for the system journal by default to significantly improve performance and optimize disk space usage. By keeping journal logs forwarded to rsyslog, the system reduces unnecessary I/O operations, leading to faster response times and increased longevity of storage devices, particularly in high-throughput environments. This change enhances efficiency without compromising essential logging functionality, ensuring that critical logs remain accessible in syslog while preventing disk clutter. Users who require additional journal logging can manually re-enable disk storage based on their specific needs.
On the security front, RELIANOID 8.3.0 resolves multiple critical vulnerabilities, further strengthening system integrity. For details on specific CVEs addressed, please refer to our official security advisory.
We encourage all users to upgrade to RELIANOID 8.3.0 to take advantage of these powerful new features, security fixes, and performance optimizations. Enjoy the new capabilities and reliability brought by RELIANOID 8.3.0!
