Release details

This release brings significant improvements to the web GUI, including several refinements that enhance user experience and responsiveness. We’ve updated Angular libraries and components to ensure the GUI remains modern and efficient. Additionally, translation improvements have been implemented to support a wider range of languages and locales. On the system side, services have been switched to systemd, allowing for better control and monitoring of system processes. The core has undergone rigorous testing with advanced QA practices, leading to improved memory usage, especially when downloading large backups. Another notable enhancement is the ability to download support saves directly without requiring disk storage, streamlining the process for users.

API and Core Enhancements:
To improve the maintainability and efficiency of our API, we’ve refactored the code to eliminate source code duplication, resulting in a cleaner and more sustainable codebase. Configuration file parsing has also been optimized for better performance. GSLB (Global Server Load Balancing) users will notice enhanced stats in the web GUI, with new parameters added for more comprehensive monitoring and reporting. Furthermore, we’ve made improvements to the inotify calls, which are critical for real-time monitoring and management of file system events.

Bugfixes:
In response to user feedback, this release addresses several key issues. We’ve fixed an issue with the stats module to correctly display real memory usage, ensuring that users have accurate data at all times. The RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) system now properly lists roles, enhancing security and user management. Additionally, a long-standing warning related to the fdpoll bad file descriptor has been resolved, improving system stability. Lastly, numerous warnings within the core have been addressed, leading to a more polished and reliable system overall.

This release marks a significant step forward in the evolution of the RELIANOID Load Balancer Enterprise Edition, with improvements across the board that enhance both user experience and system performance. We encourage all users to upgrade to version 8.1 to take advantage of these new features and fixes.
